‧June 2006 update
This year, Oxford University Press is celebrating its centenary as a publisher
of learned journals. In 1906, OUP first began a journals publishing programme,
with the inaugural issue of Quarterly Journal of Medicine (QJM) appearing in
print the following year. QJM, under the guiding hand of renowned physician and
medical researcher, Sir William Osler, is acknowledged as being the first major
medical publication by the Press, which now publishes over 1800 Medical
textbooks and 40 medical journals.
